first day in Kyrgyzstan/ erster Tag in Kirgistan

Hallo zusammen/hi there!

für Deutsch siehe unten!

Well, I safely arrived in Bishkek, the capital of KG. I still have kind of jetlag but it's going well. Since the KG time zone is 5 hour earlier than the Swiss/European time zone (means: now it’s 4 p.m. here and in Europe it is supposed to be 11 a.m.) and I arrived at 3 a.m. here in Manas Airport this is nothing special. After arriving and passing through the passport control I arrived at about 4.30 a.m. in my first Kyrgyz host family. Today morning I had my first Russian lesson - that was sooo heavy (especially with my jetlag)! But anyway, I am happy that I already started to learn some Russian in Switzerland. In the weekend we probably go to the mountains, that’s going to be nice! Even more snow than here in Bishkek!
The whole week I will always have Russian lessons in the morning and in the afternoons I will either have some introduction into my training with Helvetas or free. Such as tomorrow: I will meet Adis, he is an artist and a friend of a Swiss friend of mine. Yesterday after I came home from the Helvetas office my host brother Tilek asked me to join him and drink some tea (Rus= Chay). That’s typical: you sit there at the table, drink chay with sugar (Rus= saccharin) and eat bread (Kyrg= nan) with butter. They made bread at home that was delicious!
On the photo below you can see my family. The Vodka bottle in the from was a little bit more full before =D

Meine Adresse / My Adress in Kyrgyzstan

Hi there,
hallo zusammen!

for english scroll down!

BioCotton Project

HELVETAS
14 B Jamashova St.

Jalalabad, Kyrgyzstan

Tel.Fax: ++996 3722 55279

Bitte beachtet dabei:

To reach me on a traditional way, use this address above (in the German part). Make sure to write the address in BIG block letters (they read and write in Cyrillic letters there and therefore may not be able to read our typical hand writing). When sending a letter/packet be aware of:

- it may take 10 to 20 day until a letter/packet arrives

- they may open the letter/packet! If something precious is inside it may disappear :-)

- too much chocolate or other candies are also considered as something veeery precious (if any precious good is inside: never indicate it on the letter/packet!)

Noch eine Woche... one week to go :-)

Hallo zusammen, hi there!

Well one week to go... And then: Kyrgyzstan! Wow, everything's running so fast and I still have so many things to do (with packaging I didn't begin at all!!!) But this is not the first time I'm so far away from home for a long time.
My flight will be at february 9 on 10:45 p.m. from Zurich Airport with Turkisch Airlines. After a stop in Istanbul I will land in the early morning (at about 4 a.m.) in Bishkek the capital of Kyrgyzstan. Then I will stay for some days there for learning Russian (although some people just speak Kyrgyz but with russian I can help myself quiet a big).
